Gas, Water and Electrical wiring – Done
Feb 17th
It looks like a lot of work has been going on. The Gas has been run, the electrical is in and so are the water pipes. They did miss some chasing to the OPL area for a power point and another gas point but I have advised Ventura and it will get done. The Sensor wire for the Solar Hot Water system has also been put in.
Gas Lines are yellow..
Water pipes are grey..
I remember water pipes used to be copper, now they are grey plastic. I say it’s a good idea, as they don’t corrode.
Our Customer Relations Officer called us today to tell us we also needed another Meter Box for the Gas as the gas pressure in our area is too low and they need a bigger box. They said they can’t take out the current one and replace it, but rather put another on in. I’m a bit annoyed about this, but it is hidden away so it’s not that bad.
Meeting with the Site Supervisor
Jan 27th
I got to site this morning at around 7:20am for the 7:30am meeting. It was quite informal and we went through the house and I voiced my concerns over:
- gaps between the slab and brickwork
- pipe between hallway and kitchen (inline with wall)
I didn’t bring up the slab crack as I don’t see them being an issue as they are currently only hairline and the slab was poured just before Christmas when the weather was stinking hot (36-40 degrees C) in Perth. If they do get larger, I will decide what I’ll do then.
After talking to the Site Supervisor he said that the gaps will indeed be filled with concrete and the pipe between the walls is actually for the electricity and also water connections to the sink and dishwasher. Once this come down from the roof in the wall cavity, they will be able to brick up the wall where the pipe comes out.
Oh, another thing I noticed was that in bedroom 2 and 3 there is no brickwork over the wardrobe, where there is planned to be a soffit cornis. The Site Supervisor advise that the bulkhead would be build out of timber framing…a bit disappointed as I expected that to also be brick, but then it doesn’t really matter as long as when the walls are painted you don’t notice the transition between the brick and wall sheet.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get the Site Supervisor’s phone #….crap!
The good news is that the roof timbers should get delivered around next Tues (2nd Feb) and work on the roof hopefully commence on Wed/Thur!
We have a tap!
